Joining the Game

About our game...

The Tuesday freezeout tournament is a basic no rebuy, no reentry, no add on game that is run once a week.  It starts at 7:00 central time with late entry until 7:15.  The PokerStars software algorithm randomly assigns the players to seats with a max of 9 players per table.  It is played until a winner prevails balancing and breaking tables as necessary.

This is a no rake game.  You read that right.  Zero profit from this game are taken to run or keep track of performance or money accountability.  We do it because we love it.  Because of this, we ask that players be accountable and respectful so that this love can continue.

$20 of the $25 buyin goes towards the nightly payout.  The other $5 goes to a WSOP prize pool to send at least one of our players, expenses paid, to Las Vegas including his or her flight, hotel, and entry into a bracelet event.

The prize(s) are awarded based on a point system that is updated throughout the year.  Points are given on the 4,3,2,1 system in which the winner of the weekly tournament earns 4 points, second place gets 3 points, and third place is good for 2 points.  The 4th place will get one point only if the tournament reaches 18 players or more.  This corresponds to the threshold in which the 4th place player qualifies for a nightly prize.

The fiscal year for the points race begins on May 1st and ends after the final Tuesday tournament of the next April.  This gives the winner(s) the month of May to make plans for the Vegas trip.

We began the 2022-2023 points race in September of 2022 and when Joe Schwenk finished at the end of April with the most points, he was awarded with a prize pool of a little over $3000.  The 2023-2024 race was won by Michael Culpepper for approximately $3750.  We also paid second place $750.
