The News...  Happy Holidays!!

Narrowing the prizes....

*There will be 3 prizes this year!

I know I have talked a lot about our prize pool and my effort to narrow the parameters as we go while sharing my thought process.  I do this in an effort for max transparency.

Well I am pleased to let you know that this is the last time I will yammer about it until the final plan in full detail is released at the end of January.

While I am not assuming that the points leader can not be caught, I am yearning for a race like we had last year.

That being said, we WILL be giving a prize to the person in second place.

So here are the facts as we know them now:

1. First place will be winning a prize package to attend the WSOP with enough to compensate for airfare, lodging, and buyin to a bracelet tournament.

2. Second place will be winning a prize.  Details to be announced at the end of January.

3. There will be a drawing for a no strings prize of $500.  each point will represent an drawing entry.  So the more points you have, the better your chances.

Once again, I will have a full layout at the end of January so stay tuned and lets all play down the stretch together.  Every point means something no matter what position you are in.

This week's Tip of the Cap goes to Ryan Conner.  Ryan won the grand opening tournament at Clifton Card House in Bacliff.  Great job Ryan!

Coach's Corner

Ok so if you enjoyed Lexi's video last week and now understand pot odds, the next consideration is implied odds.

Imagine you have a drawing hand and don't quite have the odds to call but you feel like if you do hit, you may be able to stack your opponent.  This amount you "could" win is associated with your implied odds.

This is probably in the advanced section but just listening to "split suit" discuss it may help you at least visualize the concept.

Enjoy.
