June, 1st, 2023 Newsletter The News.... We bid a fond farewell to Joe Schwenk's live game on Monday, June 2nd.  Those of us that have been fortunate enough to attend some of these know that it has been a real treat to play this monthly game and it will surely be missed.  A special thank you to Joe for hosting all these months.  For those of you who do play this game, I will have some news on continuing this monthly game to be announced both at the tournament on Monday and via this newsletter in 2 weeks.  But for now, I hope to see you for one last game of cards on the Strand! We've had Record Breaking turnout for the first 2 weeks of our new season.  At 25 players per week, we are able to pay 5th place while still getting $210 up top for the winner and bagging $125 per week towards our champion prize pool.  I can't say enough about how well the club members have spread the word and grown the group organically with quality players.  Keep up the good work and feel free to forward this newsletter to anyone you think may be interested in joining. A huge congratulations to this guy.  Joe Schwenk (aka Jerze Joe) kicked all our butts and now will be going out to Las Vegas to kick some more at this year's WSOP!  Joe dragged a prize of $3040 of which $1500 will be spent on entry fees for bracelet event(s).   We will keep everyone updated via this newsletter on what tournaments to watch his name in as well as chip counts via our facebook page.
